Get the most out of roadside.market

1. Finding Local Farmstands

To find local farmstands, browse the interactive map. You can use the search bar at the bottom to find specific products (like "Eggs", "Honey", or "Local Produce") or tap the filter icon next to it to sort stands by categories. Look out for different types of markets, including farmers markets and artisan markets.

2. Business Profiles

Each farmstand or market on the map has a business profile. Click on a pin to view their profile, which includes their operating hours, accepted payment methods, and the types of items they sell.

3. Adding a Stand to the Map

Notice a local stand that isn't on the map? You can add it by following these steps:

  1. Click the orange plus (+) button in the bottom right corner of the map.
  2. A map pin will appear. Drag the map until the pin is exactly over the stand's physical location.
  3. Fill out the form that appears with as much detail as possible (items sold, hours, and accepted payment methods).
  4. Click the Save button (which turns green when ready) to submit the stand to the map.

4. Claiming a Stand

If you are the owner of a farmstand that is already on the map, you can claim it to become its verified owner. This allows you to manage the listing directly. Here is how:

  1. Ensure you are logged into your roadside.market account.
  2. Find and click on your farmstand on the map.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the stand's details card and click the "Claim this stand" link.
  4. Follow the prompts to confirm your claim. Once claimed, the stand will appear in your account dashboard.

5. Verifying a Stand

Verifying your stand ensures customers know your business profile is accurate and maintained by the true owner. Verified stands receive a special badge on the map.

  1. After claiming your stand, open the User Menu (top right corner).
  2. Select the My Stands list.
  3. Click the Verify button on your stand.
  4. This will open a scanner. Use your device's camera to scan the QR code on the verified sticker you received from us.
  5. Once the QR code is scanned, your stand will instantly be updated to verified!

6. Finding Favorites

You can create a free account by tapping the User Menu icon in the top right corner. Once logged in, simply click the heart icon on any stand's profile to save it to your list of favorites. You can access your favorites anytime from the User Menu.

7. Using Trail Mode & The Passport

Explore curated trails of local farmstands and markets! Trail Mode connects stands together along a themed path. Stands that are part of a trail feature a distinct pin on the map.

  1. You can open Trail Mode either by visiting the Passport (from the User Menu) or by viewing the details of a stand that is already part of a trail.
  2. Once activated, a Trail Mode Active banner will appear at the top of the screen, highlighting your chosen route.
  3. Visit the stands on your trail and Check-In when you arrive to earn passport stamps.
  4. Checking in at all stands along a trail earns you a special badge to signify you have completed it! You can view your achievements and completed trails in your Passport.
